When Business is Slow

Business is a little slow right now. I’ve had lots of interest from potential clients, but most of them flaked. So I’m back in my small hometown visiting family, chilling on the porch and all that. I have savings.

About these flakers…they are annoying.

It goes like this: They reach some epic low, a breakup, or a major masturbation rash, and they decide to contact a dating coach like myself. They email me, and I say, “Great. What’s your phone number?” and that’s the last I hear from them. I’ll send a follow up email, and sometimes they reply, but they can’t make that next step. They lack commitment, discipline, ambition, bravery.

It’s usually not the money. For most adult males, $1500 isn’t that much—not when it comes to a skillset that will change their lives forever. It’s a combination of fear and laziness, and more. All the character traits that have held them back in every area, forever.

Anything that you practice, will reinforce itself, including placidity

It’s all of these factors combined. The same reason they can’t find a girl, is the same reason they won’t hire a coach. They’re addicted to indecision, apathy and sloth.

These are the guys who play video games instead of reading books, masturbate instead of going out, eat potato chips instead of working out, watch Netflix instead of creating art. They know they are wasting their lives and can see the door out of this fate, but they just can’t take the first step.

Resistance is evil

If you recognize these traits, and we all do, realize that nobody is going to change your life for you.

Nobody is going to change your life for you.

Nobody is going to change your life for you.

Nobody is going to change your life for you.

Understand that self-development, creation, always rounds down. So if you go half way to another level, and you quit, you might as well stay at zero. Go all the way, or stay in bed.

And while I await the next client, I’ll write, go to parties, hang out with my family and friends, work on my next novel, meditate, write a few songs on my guitar, read great books, and tinker with my blog.

We all battle these demons. But if you’re one of these guys, a fucking slacker, understand that you get from life, exactly what you put into it.

  1. They don’t want to admitt they’re socially inept. They are on a high horse. Opposite of humble , indeed.
    Thanks bro , have a good vacation !! : )

  2. Everybody wants, but not every gets. Input leads to output. John Rohn one said that the world responds to seed, not to need. People get what they deserve. If they don’t want to put in the work, then they don’t deserve the good things in life. Keep on hustling’ Tony and don’t let the flakers get to you.
